Striving & Celebrating Together - Testimonials

I am delighted to recommend Samineh to anyone considering working with her. For much my time as an Adjunct Professor at Hult International Business School over the last six years, Samineh was the Dean at the post-graduate campus in London. During her time there, Samineh did an absolutely fantastic job and it was a compete pleasure working with her, bouncing ideas for improved course/programme delivery, sharing the highs and lows of the students and staff, and supporting one another in our respective management roles. Samineh is a great professional and one of the most empathetic individuals I’ve met in my career! She has a deep passion for learning, improvement, and the power of collective thinking in tackling problems. Samineh really believes that many heads are better than one and has an innate ability to drive improvement through empowerment of those around her in a team. She is quite simply excellent and someone I consider as much a friend as a work colleague!

Professor Alistair Brandon-Jones

Sam is quite simply the most amazing and inspirational manager and leader I have worked with. During the 4 years we worked together, she fostered a culture of development and growth that impacted not only her team but the thousands of students under our care. Rebranding ‘soft skills’ to ‘vital life skills, Sam pushed us all to see these as measurable strengths with a measurable impact, and under her management and mentoring, I learned to nurture those skills and improve my emotional intelligence, self-awareness, resilience, and accountability, to name but a few. While growing and devolving responsibility and ownership across the organisation, Sam was always accountable, trustworthy and reliable. Her ability to deal with crisis and her creativity in achieving results were always an inspiration. Sam is driven to bring the best out of each person and is an outstanding mentor. I’m so grateful I had the chance to be managed and taught by her, and know that she will be an outstanding asset to any company.

Associate Dean Helene Smart

There is no one quite like Samineh. She is a force of nature. Deeply wise, an accomplished educator, speaker, facilitator, manager, and thought leader on many fronts. I met and worked with her during her tenure at Hult IBS as Dean of the London postgraduate program. Sam is an innovator in learning and development, always seeking new, practical approaches so others can unlock their leadership potential. And then in the past year, I have participated in a number of her IG live and podcast appearances. Have been blown away by her depth of knowledge on emotional intelligence, relational and cross-cultural intelligence, as well as explorations of NLP, mental health management, anti-bullying initiatives and strategic inquiry. She is also an accomplished writer and her book The Karma Hotel is truly extraordinary. To know Sam, is to adore, admire and be inspired by Sam.

Professor Cari E. Guittard

An incredible leader, manager, coach, and colleague. Sam has a deep understanding and passion for people and connects with empathy and honesty. I feel very fortunate to have reported directly to Sam and learned invaluable skills and grew both professionally and personally. At all times she was willing for me to do my very best and reach my full potential. Sam is an outstanding public speaker and can hold an audience in person or virtually with a very deep connection. Sam is naturally open-minded, interested, and caring, she enjoys learning about people's families, lives, and interests and builds a strong community in this way. I have nothing but gratitude, praise, and admiration, I hope our paths cross again in the future.

Her drive to forge teams that work cohesively and seamlessly has been wonderful to be part of and to learn from. Sam has always encouraged and fostered a culture of curiosity, collaboration and courtesy, and this mutual respect for each other is the glue with which she has bonded teams so well. Her courses and content is to be admired and her ability to plan, design and facilitate world-class programmes is unbeatable. Sam is integrity, intelligence and inspiration rolled into one.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Dr. Samineh Shaheem when attending Hult International Business School, London's Campus, while receiving my Executive MBA. Dean Sam (as we called her) set the tone for our experience from the very beginning with her clear executive presence and professionalism, high standards for academic excellence, and genuine passion for a growth mindset amongst her peers. Dean Sam welcomed us to campus every month and carried her passions to the classroom taking time out of her busy schedule to lead sessions herself after hours for students who wanted to continue to learn. Dean Sam demonstrated true leadership principles in her daily interactions and implemented what was being taught. She knew when to ask questions, when to allow others to speak or vent, and when to implement and act swiftly to move the needle forward. I had the privilege of then serving on the Hult Student Association for London's Campus and worked closer with Dean Sam behind the scenes to further enhance the student experience. While people may believe people change when not in the public eye, Dean Sam continued to demonstrate that her leadership and desires were genuine and heartfelt. She has a true passion for her work, for the students she oversees, and for upholding the academic integrity and standards of the Business School. I couldn't be more thankful to know and learn from Dean Sam in these capacities. Dean Sam is a top-notch leader, executer, and, most importantly, a top-notch person.

“There is a near unparalleled cultural transience in the UAE, formed of ‘temporary’ citizens from a multitude of backgrounds. School parents and teachers here comprise over 200 nationalities—many of whom don’t necessarily even have a word equating to ‘bullying’ in their native languages. So the first obstacle was to define it. Now consider that UAE schools are all fee-paying schools, so there is also an institutional stigma around being the first to ‘admit’ to having a problem. Undeterred, Dr. Shaheem continued single-handedly, literally knocking on doors in order to grow support. This led her to partner with local radio Dubai Eye 103.8 FM, to raise awareness and de-stigmatize the issue to enable schools to open up and get on board. My own cross-cultural experiences made me realise that we need to identify our similarities in order to understand our differences. In order to truly understand the cultural nuances that influence behavior, actions and opinions, you have to understand the culture in which they originate.”

I had the honour of having Dr. Samineh Shaheem as my Dean at Hult International Business School as well as the keynote TEDx speaker at my TEDxHultLondon event. Dr. Shaheem is an exceptional Dean, professor, speaker, mentor and supporter. Her work and ability to elevate and inspire everyone around her is admirable and it is truly a privilege to have had the opportunity to work with her. Dr. Shaheem is a dedicated and fearless supporter of her students who never fails to make time to listen and address the issue at hand and will always fight for what you believe in. She is able to guide and lead in a way that is both insightful and empowering and has transformed my experience. The support and guidance that students and alumni receive from Dr. Shaheem is unparalleled, especially in an international business school setting and the success of the students and programs is evident through her commitment and leadership. The most important and impactful (both professionally and personally) keynote speeches that I have seen are by Dr. Shaheem. Whether it is orientation day, an international business conference, a TEDx event or the graduation ceremony, Dr. Shaheem’s speeches and talks have a way of engaging audiences and connecting with them on a deeper level, allowing them to not only learn from her breadth of knowledge but to learn more about themselves and be able to walk away with a sense of purpose and empowerment. I highly recommend Dr. Shaheem as a speaker and would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to attend one of her talks.

I had begun the EMBA program with average expectations, but Dr Samineh's first session of immersion changed my entire perspective on my next two years. Her ability to shed light on the science behind people management and human behaviour in the corporate world completely left me and my cohort in complete awe. She was able to really extend our understanding of what it means to be true leaders and managers and understand real success whether in our personal lives or in the workplace. Dr Samineh you have opened new doors for me that I doubted ever could exist for me, thank you!

Writing an endorsement for Sam is not an easy task. One of the most emotionally intelligent leaders I have come across, she has the ability to mould organisational mindset. I have witnessed how she helps her teams grow by (a) helping them discover their purpose, and (b) being a coach on their journey to reach that purpose. Through this approach she can help individuals embrace the organisational purpose. Always aspiring for human betterment she leaves a joyful imprint wherever she goes- transforming people and workplaces. She is a blessing to this world and is on a journey to make a difference.

Samineh (Sam) is a brilliant leader and mentor. She has an excellent understanding of people and a unique ability to channel their strengths towards the objectives of the organisation. She is a believer in personal development and a growth mindset, and is unrelentingly positive and ambitious for her team. Of course, all of this is underpinned by her excellence as an academic and her experience in management. Sam is the ideal leader in a modern, flexible, multicultural environment, and any organisation would be lucky to have her on board.

Professor Alex Reeve

I work with Dr Shaheem where I have guest lectured and recently joined as an Adjunct Professor. I have also collaborated with her on wider projects on diversity, inclusion, and culture through the InterLaw Diversity Forum, which I founded and chair. Dr Shaheem is an experienced and passionate learning and development leader who thrives on creating high-performing cultures. It is clear that she possess a theoretical and practical understanding of the employee’s and students psychological needs, working with others to highlight areas of development and creating solutions. She demonstrates an entrepreneurial mindset to enable the faculty to pursue innovative and adaptive pedagogy. She also builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partners to support divisional and university objectives. Her advice has been invaluable in supporting my professional journey.

Samir Sabri

I had the incredible good fortune to work with Sam for four years on the academic team at Hult. She was a wonderful boss. Despite her demanding role as Dean and Executive Director, Sam somehow always had time for one-to-one conversations with anyone at the school - students, staff and faculty alike. She was a champion of our work and professional goals, encouraged everyone to be the best they could be - to take risks, to stretch - and coached us through challenging times. I am a stronger, more confident and compassionate leader (and person) for knowing her. Sam's professionalism, preparation and poise in all that she does was inspiration to further polish and perfect, to reflect on even the smallest details of the student academic journey. I greatly admired her tireless commitment to the role, as well as her empathy and diplomacy which reverberated throughout the academic community. Thank you, Sam, for teaching me so much during our time together!
